US
My dear friend Suzanne Kent screened her short film "US" in the 2011 St Kilda Film Festival today. I'm so proud and inspired by her courage, eye for beauty and creative talent.

MONA
MONA in Hobart houses the private art collection of Tasmanian art collector and philanthropist David Walsh. The 75million dollar building and surrounds took 4 years to complete and houses an extraordinary collection of contemporary art from national and international artists. One of Davids intentions is to provide a forum for discussion and contemporary dialogue on contemporary art or "what constitutes art".

Check out the view and the dali-esque Tennis Court - a taste of David Walsh's quirky sense of humor.

Cinema screenings are projected outside the MONA Cinema (near Bar Void, Level 3).
Monasim
Sex and death, is the theme for the first MONA exhibition and whilst many of the Monasism art works may be considered to be confronting and controversial, like the 1880 Salon collection, David's collection (apparently a third of his current collection) is truly contemporary and showcases the extraordinary breath and depth of international (Claire Morgan, Bill Viola) and national (Vernon Ah Kee) artist work and in a magnificent and truly captivating Australian setting.

The talented Mr Ken
Ken plays a solo gig at "Young and Jackson's".
As the rain gradually muted the vista over Melbourne's night sky, Ken's beautiful world music and charm, mingled with red wine.

My Mum
Gives us the chance to celebrate the essence of being a Mother
the value of their love
and the joy they share in our lives.
Bruno is currently in America attending a Cardiology conference, so Mum and I celebrated Mother's Day at Eleonore's Restaurant at Chateau Yerring. The degustation menu and Riesling (Dr Loosen, Mosel-Saar- Ruwer, Germany 2009) was fabulous. The restaurants old world ambience and position within a poetic autumnal landscape, created a charming and enjoyable day.

Melbourne
..the rain and cold doesn't make it easy to settle back into Melbourne... the heart and mind wanders.
Keeping busy...
walks along a wind wept and grey-toned beach,
red wine and lingering conversations with friends I cherish,
work,
yoga and swimming at the St Kilda Seabaths,
hand stitching my provincial quilt,
long lunches with Mum,
house cleaning,
errands,
slow cooked Lamb shanks and potato mash,
lying in bed and reading,
In between these moments, I wonder when the aching and longing will past.

Back home by the sea
After pursuing my dreams and desires in Rome and Florence, I'm back by the sea in Melbourne...
