Inspiration is everywhere

...one just has to open one's eyes and heart.

Just before I retreat to bed, weary from a busy but beautiful day, I find this little treasure.

Mr Bean

Why is it that I always feel like I don't have enough time in a single day to do all the things I plan? Does everyone feel this way? Or am I trying to achieve too much...?

"Surely not Jules"

Anyway... Why is it that some people like gorgeous Mr Bean seem to have all the time in the world to do the simplest of tasks?

Welcome

SYNOPSIS: The multi award-winning new film from writer/director Philippe Lioret, WELCOME is a compassionate and inspiring drama about the hope of new beginnings and the power of true love, centred on two couples contending with issues of separation and dislocation. 17-year-old Bilal has spent the last three months travelling illegally across Europe, in an attempt to reunite with his girlfriend Mina who has moved with her family to England. The long journey is almost over when he finally reaches Calais, on the far northern coast of France; he can literally see his destination from across the Channel. But with all legal options exhausted, Bilal resolves that his only option is to learn to swim, and make the dangerous crossing himself. Bilal seeks the help of middle-aged swimming instructor Simon (Vincent Lindon), who is privately reeling from impending divorce from his socially-conscious wife Marion. In an effort to win her back, Simon impulsively - and uncharacteristically - risks everything by taking Bilal under his wing. A huge critical and box office success in its native France, this profoundly moving masterwork was awarded the Ecumenical Jury Prize at the Berlin International Film Festival, named Best Film at the 2010 Lumiere Awards, and received an astonishing ten Cesar nominations including Best Film and Director.

Mum, Fifi & Pierina

There are some people in our lives that are a blessing and whose very presence in the world makes us feel alive.
When they walk into a room their smile, glance or gesture towards us, let's us know that we belong together.
They are the people who we feel free and natural with.
The people we laugh and cry with.
They help us to see ourselves through their eyes & to accept our beauty and our fragility's.
The people that have touched the very essence of our humanity.
They are the people that will sit beside us in joy, fear and silence - even if it is uncomfortable for them.
They will walk through the fire and rain to be with us.
They are our "home".

Nursing

A person's 'hands' express who they are and something of their lives.

My hands are not only strong; calloused by kayaking and cycling; expressive and creative; but tell a story of the lives I have nursed. I am proud of the lives my hands have touched and the empathy, humanity and tenderness they have conveyed.

After 18 years working as an emergency nurse, I have experienced many diverse and challenging moments. I have worked with egalitarian and inspiring colleagues and been intimately involved in the darkest and most fragile moments of peoples lives.

Nursing is a privilege and I grateful for the footprints it has imprinted on my life both professionally and personally.

Beauty

I'm surrounded by so much beauty.
Many corners of my world
inspire and nurture me
I am so grateful for everything
I have,
that I have achieved,
and all that is to come.
