A person's 'hands' express who they are and something of their lives.
Nursing is a privilege and I grateful for the footprints it has imprinted on my life both professionally and personally.
My hands are not only strong; calloused by kayaking and cycling; expressive and creative; but tell a story of the lives I have nursed. I am proud of the lives my hands have touched and the empathy, humanity and tenderness they have conveyed.
After 18 years working as an emergency nurse, I have experienced many diverse and challenging moments. I have worked with egalitarian and inspiring colleagues and been intimately involved in the darkest and most fragile moments of peoples lives.
Nursing is a privilege and I grateful for the footprints it has imprinted on my life both professionally and personally.
