...Why?

As I sat on some rocks along the shoreline today I was considering the meaning of "suffering" in our lives.

When we are joyful and things are flowing the way want; we don't ask questions, because we don't want these moments to come to an end.
When we experience peace; we don't ask questions, poise upon the past or plan for the future. We just accept our lives as they are.
When we experience suffering, loss, grief or are fearful; we cry out to God, and search for strength and meaning.

During our lives we shift between these emotions, but it is during moments of darkness that we reflect upon the suffering of our Lord, find the strength to go on, and are reminded to trust in God's mysterious mission.
